Tough Mudder Half Midlands May 2016

Tough Mudder Half Midlands May 2016

This is the first obstacle race i’ve done so far this year purely because i’ve been so focused on my 3rd Dan TKD grading.

It was such amazing fun. It was only 5 miles, much shorter then the Tough Mudder I did last year which was 13 miles, but in a way i’m glad because for whatever reason, my right groin and left knee started to play up at mile 3!! That was so frustrating because it was agony after that, I had to skip or drag the leg to keep up the pace. Not sure why this happened, i’ve never had problems with those area’s before. But it may have had something to do with how COLD I was! possibly! I sustained another small injury, again this has never happened before, my left ring finger got caught coming down one of the mud slides so I have either pulled ligament or broken something.. lets see how long it takes to heal.

It was the muddiest of the mud races I have ever done. In previous mud races there would be some kind of lake swim towards the end which helped wash some of the mud from your clothes, there wasn’t anything this times. So went home with layers of mud caked onto our gear, it took 4 washes before the water was clear.

Yes but call me crazy, it was still amazing :-)

The photo shows myself and my husband carrying our friend Dr Boo Newns during the Hero Carry obstacle. It certainly looks like she’s enjoying herself :-)
